QuestionHow can I start CADRaster while AutoCAD is already working?
AnswerIt is possible in R14 and R13 only. To start CADRaster call AppLoad command from AutoCAD command prompt. On dialog, which appear, select from list proper arx file or add it to the list using File... button.
For AutoCAD R13 you have to use cdrsrv13.arx, for AutoCAD R14 - cadr14.arx. This procedure you can use with either PRO and LTX versions.
Known limitations and problems:
AutoCAD's message:
Loading c:\CADRaster PRO\Cadr14.arx ... c:\CADRaster PRO\Cadr14.arx cannot find a dll or other file that it needs. File c:\CADRaster PRO\Cadr14.arx is invalid.
Problem description:
This problem appears when a valid DLL can not be loaded. There can be two reasons:
More Info:
If you want to keep few AutoCADs working with different CADRasters methods described above will be not sufficient. In this case you must erase all CADRaster's paths from registry variable:
'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppPaths\acad.exe'
and from system variable. Then for every AutoCAD you must set valid working directory. Its mean directory to proper CADRaster. You can do this simply changing one of AutoCAD's shortcut properties named 'Start in'.
AutoCAD R13:
If you want to call CADRaster after AutoCAD running, AutoCAD must be configured to work with CADRaster Display Driver. In this case CADRaster is loaded by every AutoCAD running and displays its menu. When AutoCAD R13 works with other display driver arx loading invokes an error message. |
