Question

Why it comes that when I try to open in AutoCAD an image made in CADRaster (using RConvert to Tiff with PackBits compression) AutoCAD crashes?

Answer

The compression mode PackBits is very popular all over the world, but implementations are different in various programs. CADRaster opens these PackBits compressed tiffs for which the implementation is known to us. Of course we do not know all of them so in some cases it fails. This situation occurs for example with TIFFs created by AutoCAD. To avoid this problem use one of remaining compression modes.
