Question

Why it comes that I receive a message like this: "AutoCAD error while pasting raster image into document" when I save document recovered from DWG with DOS CADRaster object.

Answer

Problem description:
In some situation CADRaster cannot successfully paste raster image to AutoCAD DWG file. This problem occurs when there is no appropriate image format converter in AutoCAD. For example, when user open VIDAR file, this file can be edited successfully in CADRaster. But save operation always fails because AutoCAD cannot open files encoded in VIDAR mode.
For some images save operation will be done OK on computer A and failed on computer B. It happens because AutoCAD components on computers A might be different than on computer B.
Standard AutoCAD R14 come with some basic image file filters. The other filters may come with AutoCAD's application. For example CAD Overlay adds more file filters (like TARGA, RLC and more).
Solution:
If you do not have the required image format converter and do not wish to install it simply toggle off saving image references in DWG using CADRaster configuration dialog. If you would like to install additional image format converters you can look forward on AutoDesk WWW server, where the additional image filters pack is accessible.
