Question

How to configure lines width for RCREATE command?

Answer

Configuration consists of two steps: the first is deeply depend on AutoCAD platform and the second is common except a few details.
  • Step I: (AutoCAD LT 95 and AutoCAD LT 97 do not require this step).
    AutoCAD R14:
    1. Open AutoCAD's Preferences dialog (Tools\Preferences... menu)
    2. Select Printer tab
    3. Look through the list for device named CADRaster Rasterizer
    4. If doesn't exist press New button
    5. From list Available printers drivers select CADRaster Printer Driver - by Tessel Systems and in the Add Description field write down CADRaster Rasterizer. Close the dialog pressing OK
    6. Answer the configuration questions and close Preferences dialog
    AutoCAD R13:
Your plotter driver should be properly installed during the first running of CADRaster. If is not please refer to the CADRaster's manual how to configure the plotter driver.
  • Step II:
    1. Call AutoCAD's Print command to open the Print / Plot Configuration dialog
    2. Press Device and Default selection... button
    3. Select CADRaster Rasterizer(for AutoCAD R13 or AutoCAD R14) or System Printer (for AutoCAD LT 95 or AutoCAD LT 97) and close dialog
    4. On the Print / Plot Configuration press Pen Assignment... button
    5. Set required widths and accept them with OK button
    6. To store the settings you have to plot something before closing the dialog. It doesn't matter to file or to device
Now you can start RCREATE command and create a raster with correct lines' widths.
In AutoCAD R13 and AutoCAD R14 there is possibility to define more then one device based on CADRaster Printer Driver - by Tessel Systems driver with different descriptions. You can decide which one should be used in RCREATE command using CADRaster's Configuration dialog. Open it and select Other tab. From combo box named Plotter for vector rasterization select the proper one. Remember to set the pen's widths for chosen device
